The study was carried out on 5 plasma samples from each experimental group, obtained at 108 days of gestation and at the end of lactation. The analysis using quantitative proteomic techniques suggests that a low dietary \u03c96:\u03c93 fatty acids ratio could enhance the cellular defense mechanisms against increased stresses and in particular oxidative stress, during gestation and lactation, as reflected in proteomic changes of haptoglobin, alpha-1 antitrypsin and APCS (serum amyloid P -component. Furthermore, significant differences between plasma proteomic profiles at the end of pregnancy and during lactation were revealed for the first time. These results reflect an adaptation of the animal to the physiological changes that occur during reproduction. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Researchers from the Universities of Glasgow, Milan, Vietnam National Agricultural University and the MedILS in Croatia participated in the study. Acuvet Biotech collaborated by performing the acute phase protein analysis by ELISA. The results obtained with our tests allowed us to validate the results of the proteomic techniques, showing a high correlation with them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size:
