The aim of the new UNE quality standard is to improve the conditions of health and animal welfare at animal shelters, of both, public and private management. The norm is the result of the consensus of all actors implied, and will allow the harmonization and homologation of procedures regarding animal health and welfare management in those animal shelters that adhere to the norm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span><strong>Matilde Pi\u00f1eiro, R&amp;D manager at Acuvet Biotech<\/strong>, participated as a speaker at the conference, with the presentation <strong>&#8220;Animal Welfare in dogs, evaluation by biochemical measurements. Results of the Preliminary Study&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>We want to thank AVEM for the invitation to participate in this interesting conference, and congratulate them for the excellent work they are carrying out with the creation of the new UNE standard, searching for improvements on animal welfare at animal shelters. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>Acuvet Biotech is currently working on a <strong>study in collaboration with AVEM<\/strong>.
